A delicious drink for a worthy cause; bottlegreen have turned bottlepink to raise money for Breakthough Breast Cancer. The refreshing blend of exotic pomegranate and sweet elderflower will be sold across the UK with 10% of sales donated to charity.
I wanted to show my support by featuring the drink in a recipe inspired by one of my favourite cocktails, the amaretto sour. This is a mocktail but can be created as an alcoholic version too.
Shopping list.

♥ Cherry juice
♥ Fresh lemon juice
♥ Pomegranate seeds

♥ Optional; a spirit such as amaretto or dark rum to enhance the flavour. or a white spirit such as vodka for subtle alcohol content.

Step one. Simply muddle the flavours together with 1/4 bottlepink and 3/4 cherry juice. if you'd prefer it with amaretto liqueur too, simply add around 1/4 and reduce the cherry juice to half.
Step two. Squeeze in half the lemon, stir through the sugar and scatter with pomegranate seeds.
Step three. Shake with crushed ice, if you have a shaker. otherwise just stir.
Step four. Layer on more ice and pomegranate seeds to finish.
Please remember to give to this fantastic cause. I did the race for life 5k this year too, so if drink isn't your thing there is always a way to donate.
Note: i was send a complimentary bottle of bottlepink to feature. however I support the charity and will be donating my share. All opinions are honest and my own.
This sounds so delicious- and I love a mocktail! Will be saving this idea :)

DeleteI wonder whether the recipe assumes fresh-pressed pomegranate juice, or if bottled works too—the sweetness can vary a lot between brands. Did you find that made a difference in balancing the sour element?
Deletepomegranate is my favorite fruit. This cocktail sounds really great to try, Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteThat pomegranate and elderflower combo sounds like sunshine in a glass. Speaking of worthy causes, it's fantastic that bottlegreen is donating to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. It's like a feel-good flavor explosion. I remember trying to organize a bake sale once for a local animal shelter, logistics were a nightmare, like navigating a level in Geometry Dash with my friends.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to support a worthy cause! The pomegranate sour sounds like a refreshing twist on the classic amaretto sour. How does the flavor of pomegranate blend with elderflower in this mocktail version? Do you have any tips for making it even more special?
ReplyDeleteI love how you’re combining a delicious drink with supporting such an important cause! How do you think the pomegranate adds a unique touch to the traditional amaretto sour? Would you recommend any specific garnishes or variations to enhance the mocktail version?
ReplyDeleteoh, so easy, gotta try this summer.
ReplyDeleteI’m thinking of trying this for a holiday brunch—swapping the bourbon for gin might lighten it up without losing the pomegranate punch. Have you tested any spirit substitutions that still keep the balance?

ReplyDeleteI love that bottlegreen turned bottlepink for Breakthrough Breast Cancer—combining pomegranate and elderflower sounds like a refreshing twist on a sour. Do you know if the 10% donation applies only to bottles sold in certain shops, or nationwide?
ReplyDeleteI never thought to pair pomegranate with elderflower in a sour — does the sweetness from the elderflower balance the tartness enough, or would you adjust the ratio for a drier finish?

ReplyDeleteThis pomegranate sour looks absolutely stunning! The colour alone is enough to impress guests, but the balance of tart and sweet sounds spot on. I've been experimenting with aquafaba as an egg white alternative and it works brilliantly in sours — gives that same silky foam without the fuss. Your tip about dry shaking first is crucial, learned that the hard way with my first few attempts!
ReplyDeleteOn a slightly different note, my kids have been obsessed with this browser-based football game called Head Football while I prep weekend cocktails. It's cartoonish, no violence, runs on any device without downloads, and the matches are short enough that I don't have to pry them away when it's time for dinner. I've actually started using it as a reward for helping with garnishes — they get a match while I shake the next round and it keeps them out of the kitchen when I'm trying to measure ingredients. The oversized heads and ridiculous power-ups are genuinely hilarious too.
Any tips on sourcing good pomegranate juice that isn't overly sweetened? The supermarket brands I've tried tend to kill the tartness.
Adding this to our Christmas cocktail menu — thanks for sharing!
