A cute, bunny shaped treat for Easter. I just couldn't resist creating some rabbit shaped macarons for the occasion, filled with moreish Nutella chocolate spread.

creme egg macarons.
Just in time for Easter... Creme Egg macarons! Made with two tone yellow and chocolate macaron shells, I've well and truly jumped on the Cadbury Creme Egg baking recipe train with these tempting treats. They're then filled with a classic Creme Egg buttercream to make an Easter inspired delight.
strawberries and cream macarons.
Game, set, match! It's that time of year where we use tennis as an excuse to drink overflowing jugs of Pimms, pack up a picnic of posh sandwiches and of course... strawberries and cream. Just me? With Wimbledon 2022 this week, I've put together some strawberries and cream macarons inspired by the popular Summer sweet treat. These macarons are made with a red and white marble effect meringue shell before being finished with a vanilla and strawberry jam buttercream filling.

If you like Bounty bars and you like macarons, well, you've come to the right place. If you've read a few any other my other macaron posts you'll know I'm on a mission to create macarons for everyone's favourite chocolate bar. From Crunchie to Mint Aero, I'm here for you guys. All you have to do is adapt the centre with your favourite filling. I'll warn you now, Bounty spread is addictive.
diy wedding macaron favours.
Whether you're planning a wedding or an invite has dropped through your letterbox, there's no doubt macarons make the perfect homemade present or DIY favour idea. I made these pretty pink and gold macarons for a friends' wedding gift this Spring! So, I thought I'd share the recipe for those looking for little bit of wed-spo (is that a word now?) or maybe even a treat for the hen do.
easter egg macarons.
Happy (almost) Easter! I have made these Easter egg inspired macarons for my friend's birthday. it falls on Easter Sunday so we have decided to do a homemade Easter afternoon tea (I'm sure there will be Instagram pics to follow...) Any excuse to make macarons really! These are good for gluten free gifts as well as people who aren't fans of chocolate. Have a lovely Bank Holiday everyone!
malteser macarons.
Mad about macarons? Can't resist a packet of Maltesers or three? These Malteser macarons might be your dream come true. Made with chocolate macaron shells and filled with a crunchy Malteser buttercream, you can make these a gift and package them all back up in the original box. Or, you know, eat the lot to yourself...
reece's peanut butter cup macarons.
Some tasty little macarons made to taste just like your favourite peanut butter treat. Creating a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup style buttercream, which tastes like chocolate peanut butter, I've made some mini Reece's inspired macarons. Good luck trying not to eat the frosting right out the bowl... believe me it will be worth it.
rose shaped macarons: inspired by portmeirion botanic garden.
Inspired by nature, the Portmeirion Botanic Garden collection is full of floral flourishes from foxgloves to fuchsias and poppies to peonies. Founder Susan Williams-Ellis created the Botanic Garden range which has been synonymous with the brand since its inception, preferring the delicate pottery pieces to be mixed and matched rather like a British garden would. A quaint hydrangea print teapot can sit alongside sweet pea teacups and a stack of cakes on a iris print plate; each colour, shade and design harmonising against one another.
To celebrate what would have been her 100th birthday (June 6th 2018), I've teamed up with Portmeirion to create some botanical inspired creations of my own. These rose inspired macarons are made with a two tone petal effect, given a fondant green leaf and filled with vanilla and strawberry buttercream. An ode to Susan, I'd like to hope she would have been happy to have them at her afternoon tea party.
minion macarons.
A fun Minion macaron recipe for my Minion mad nephew. I created these little bite sized blue and yellow treats for his 4th birthday. I'd already got him into macarons a few months earlier (could be due to the Nutella filling...) and now it's really cute that he requests them from me. His wish was my command when I conjured up these Despicable Me delicacies alongside the rest of the spread.
I always swear by Sugarflair when it comes to coloured macarons - they're a little pricy but a tiny pot lasts me ages and can be adjusted to different colour strengths. Simply halve the mix and pipe a mix of yellow and blue. Lemon or blueberry buttercream could work well here but I thought I'd stick to the chocolate...
nutella macarons.
chocolate bear macarons: going on a bear hunt with ready brek.
"We're going on a bear hunt... We're going to catch a big one... What a beautiful day! We're not scared... "
Who remembers that lovely poem from Michael Rosen? I actually can't believe it's 28 years old this year (almost as old as me...) And what a perfect fit for the rebrand of our well-loved porridge treat, Ready Brek. Now with a cute bear on the front of their infamous red packaging, but still the same yummy flavours and nutrients, the illustration was the perfect inspiration behind my latest bear macaron recipe. These macarons are filled with a delicious milk chocolate filling and decorated with edible paint. Let's go...
unicorn macarons.
The magical, mystical world of unicorn recipes! If you haven't seen a rainbow coloured, sprinkle stuffed, glittery recipe in the last few months then what have you been doing? For a mythical creature, the unicorn is anything but invisible right now and I just had to get involved with this fun new trend in the form of unicorn macarons. Because when did rainbows and sugar and sprinkles not manage to make someone smile? I made these for one of my bestie's birthday parties - with a lovely lemon buttercream filling, a marbled macaron effect and of course a sprinkle of glitter!
triple chocolate macarons.
Chocolate. Triple chocolate, at that. Could there be anything finer than that first bite into your favourite chocolate bar? Personally, I love a really good milk chocolate or anything with almonds, hazelnuts or pistachios. And so, in teaming up with Expedia and their 2017 calender of foodie experience and events, I was inspired by this month's celebration of all things cocoa at York Chocolate Festival.
This triple chocolate macaron recipe is made up of cocoa infused macaron shells, a Nutella spread filling and a final drizzle of white chocolate. Macarons and chocolate? Yes please!
bilberry & beetroot macarons.
Introducing a vibrant mix of purple macarons with a vivid magenta buttercream centre, coloured entirely with natural ingredients. These deliciously easy to make macarons are infused with bilberry powder to create a lush purple meringue shell, with a whipped vanilla and beetroot buttercream. After creating some tasty gluten free coconut pancakes earlier this year, I've teamed up again with Indigo Herbs to test out their Slow Dried Bilberry Powder and Beetroot Powder to add some purple pizazz to these sweet treats... and naturally too.
coconut and lemon snowball macarons
Inspired by the classic snowball cocktail, these macarons are filled with a zesty lemon buttercream and topped with a sprinkle of coconut. The coconut is just for the snowball effect really, and since lemon and coconut are a taste combination made in heaven. Follow my super easy homemade macaron guide (and some of tips and tricks on my blog too) to rustle up the perfect macaron!
chocolate orange macarons.
'Tis the season for chocolate oranges! And what better recipe than to sandwich indulgent Terry's chocolate orange infused buttercream between light and crisp chocolate macaron shells. A perfect sweet treat or homemade gift idea for the festive season. Although they're not Terry's... they're mine.
vimto jelly bean macarons.
The latest addition to my macaron recipe collection... featuring a well known British soft drink. These Vimto macarons have been coloured pastel purple before being sandwiched together with sweet Vimto infused buttercream. Established in 1908, Vimto is known for it's unusual fruity flavour made with a medley of grapes, raspberries and blackcurrants.
A recent member of the Vimto family are their mini jelly beans - the very inspiration behind this recipe. So when I was asked if I wanted to join in the Vimto Jelly Bean Bake Off I knew I had to make macarons!
