sesame turkey skewers with coriander & lime chips and asian slaw.

made with delicious british turkey and fresh red tractor assured ingredients, this recipe is inspired by my favourite asian flavours of sesame seeds, soy sauce, sesame oil and coriander. i really think turkey and coriander are such a perfect match whilst the sesame and soy complement the asian vegetables in the slaw.

it takes around 45 minutes to make and with would serve as a meal for two or as a light bite for four - i actually took the remaining sesame turkey into work the next day for lunch with the slaw and some salad.

vietnamese summer rolls with a peanut and chilli dipping sauce.

somewhere along my instagram news feed amongst tasty tapas, carefully decorated cupcakes and plates brimming with full english breakfasts, i remember coming across a picture of some vietnamese summer rolls. i looked up a few recipes straight away and learnt that i needed to search for a pretty key ingredient... rice paper wrappers. so when i headed to london the other weekend something i remembered to search for some in a soho supermarket :)

i based my recipe on one i found on the channel 4 food website by simon rimmer; there are a few altered ingredients and these quantities feed 2 greedy people around four rolls each :) he also includes a sauce though i made this peanut and chilli dipping sauce recipe up myself after a little experimentation.

the rice paper wrappers should look something a little like these. but what else will you need?

homemade cheddar cheese, chive and red onion tartlets.

these are a really quick and easy idea for party food. they take less than 30 mins to make and you can use any filling!

begin by making basic shortcrust pastry and cutting it into circles with a cookie cutter. if you don't have one you could always use the rim of a mug, tall glass or even a dressing bottle. you then put them in foil cases which you can get from most big supermarkets.

you then beat an egg and a splash of milk together and pour into the cases. i would say 1 egg per six tarts. and finally sprinkle with your favourite flavouring :) personally i love anything with red onion but would love to try this with asparagus and salmon or broccoli and stilton!

say cheese.

shopping list.
♥ a miniature camembert
♥ a few sprigs of rosemary
♥ a little chopped garlic
♥ your favourite bread

dipping and dunking soldiers into gooey egg yolk, liquorice into sherbert, nachos into salsa and biscuits into the perfect cup of tea. bliss.

crusty bread and baked boxed camembert is just another of these combinations of guilty pleasures.

and don't forget a dash of olive oil, fresh rosemary, chopped garlic and salt and black pepper before you put it in the oven.

in the picture above i had mine with roasted tomato and olive mediterranean bread.

bake at a low temperature, 180 degrees, gas mark 4ish, for around 15 minutes. or just when it looks too gooey and delicious to leave in any longer. beautiful.
