heartier: tasty local produce by post.

With their passion for produce ranging from sweet to savoury - it was hard to pick what to choose for a review! With Summer parties on the horizon, it seemed apt to test drive the Gourmet BBQ Hamper, retailing at £73.50, including delivery, for 10 steaks, four burgers and a large pack of sausages.

In this box... 

1 x 2 Rump steaks (Weight: 6-7oz per steak) 

1 x 2 Sirloin steaks (Weight: 8oz per steak) 

1 x 2 Pork loin steaks (Weight: 8oz per steak) 

1 x 2 Gammon steaks (Weight: 8oz per steak) 

1 x Classic pork sausages (Number of sausages: 9) 

1 x Unsmoked back bacon (Weight: 1/2 lb) 

1 x 2 Ribeye steaks (Weight: 8oz per steak) 

1 x Steak burgers (Number of burgers: 4 burgers)

Coming carefully packaged, well chilled and on time, I had my package delivered on a Saturday morning at no extra cost. Added detailed that the meat had been selected and packed by "Sue" was a nice touch, with the fresh meat having a great shelf life for the week. Not that I had any plans for saving it!

We fired up the BBQ and enjoyed the sausages and steak burgers to start. The great quality meat went down very well and you could certainly tell the difference in quality.

We also tried the variety of steaks, which again didn't fail to impress! Later in the week, I enjoyed the bacon for breakfast and cooked steak for my sister's family. I have frozen the pork steak though, looking for inspiration on what to make with those. Any ideas?

In all, the quality shone through and I would definitely recommend for a foodie treat! I imagine a selection of their cheese and charcuterie would be the perfect idea for a food lovers luxury night in. Yum!
