kingshEATh street food market, birmingham.

last weekend i went along to kingshEATh in the south suburbs of birmingham to explore the street food market. from spicy south american from mexican bean to 18 hour pulled pork from low 'n' slow, there was an array of light bites, sweet treats and feasts for all taste buds.

told you there was a lot to choose from didn't i? so since i've given up meat for lent, this street food market was absolutely torture. with all that slow roast lamb, smoked pulled pork and unusual burgers floating around, what i chose would have to be pretty damn good.

then i saw this little fella and the delicious sounding three bean burrito. this was packed with kidney beans, butter beans, black eyed beans, guacamole, salsa, sour cream and cheese (though they went easy on the jalapenos and chipotle sauce). tasty tasty!

i met up with my old uni pal sean who was well up for trying one of the crazy burgers. zebra was the winner. i obviously couldn't try this out, but am told from a very responsible source that it was a stronger flavour than your average beef burger with a slight tang. i love the idea of this on a sweet brioche bun with lots of cheese.

to round it off, i obviously had to have a sweet. this came in the form of cinnamon dusted churros with a melted dark chocolate dip. a bit of a logistical nightmare to eat unless you've got four arms - but i almost managed to polish off the lot :)

a lovely sunny day for street food and can't wait for the next one!
fancy it? keep in the loop by following @brumyumyum on twitter :)

  1. Do you follow birminghambaker on instagram? His cakes look to die for and he sells them at a few markets around Brum. I really want to go but it's hard to get to without a car! Check him out
