earl grey g&t cockail.

Earl Grey cocktails

They always do say you turn into your parents eventually. My mum and I both love a pot of Earl Grey when we go for afternoon tea, and we're partial to the odd gin and tonic too. So in celebration of Mother's Day, this cocktail is an ode to the favourite women in my life. Taking inspiration from the classic way to drink Earl Grey tea with lemon, I've added a cheeky kick in the form of gin to create this afternoon tea style cocktail. Of course served in your best china... Pinkies up!

Shopping list.
(Makes one)
♥ A teabag or tea strainer full of good quality Earl Grey
♥ 50ml your favourite gin
♥ Slice of lemon
♥ Tonic

Step one. Boil the kettle and brew 50ml of Earl Grey tea for 10 minutes. Allow to cool.

Step two. Mix with 50ml of gin and top up with tonic.

Step three. Garnish with a slice of lemon.

And that's really it! I also added some pretty cornflowers from my recent loose leaf Earl Grey and vanilla tea... delicious!

What is your favourite cocktail? Will you be making an edible (or perhaps drinkable) gift for that special someone in your life this Sunday? I'll be off for afternoon tea this weekend... of course!

  1. I never would have thought to combine Early Grey with gin, but they are two of my favourite things to drink, so it sounds great to me!
