Meet & Eat at The Orange Tree is a new Leicester based supper club with a difference. Those who are familiar with The Orange Tree will recognise its relaxed vibe and independent charm through mismatched furniture, local art and stacks of board games. With such a laid back atmosphere, you'd be forgiven for thinking the private dining area was that of someone's living room. For that reason it made the perfect location for a Leicester supper club - complete with likeminded foodie folk and locally sourced food.
On the menu was a choice from seafood, meat and vegetarian options, which could be made vegan. There were clear gluten free offerings too, making it easy to find something to suit dietary requirements. I went for pan seared scallops with apple and ginger puree and fennel sauce to start, flat iron steak with Argentinean chimichurri for main and the cheeseboard to finish. In true Orange Tree style everything was served on mismatched crockery and ornate, vintage style cutlery.
As I'm not a fan of blue cheese, I asked ahead and got Black Bomber, Camembert and goat's cheese in my spread. Including a welcome drink, the three course menu comes in at £25 a head. Oh and I got a lovely little bottle of homemade sloe gin to take home at the end too - a cute touch!
Keep a look out on The Orange Tree's what's on page as well as their Twitter updates to find out when their next supper club is planned + the mouthwatering menu! Whether you're looking to go as a group, couple or on your own to meet totally new faces - they're a friendly crowd and you'll be sure to feel welcome.
I was invited as a guest of The Orange Tree - all words and photographs my own.

Oh hoho I do love the Orange Tree! I was so tempted to try this evening out, but must confess I chickened out at the last minute for fear of being all by myself!
