Firm favourites of mine so far include the Earl Grey Tea, All Butter Shortbread and the Strawberry Jam. I am surprised how much I'm in love with the toffee waffles too, which are heavenly sweet and somehow increasingly moreish.

The tea is of such fantastic quality and laced with a subtle natural bergamot flavour characteristic of Earl Grey. The London Tea Company have blended this from two bright black teas from Ceylon and the Nilgiris in South India to create one of the nation's favourite teas.

The strawberry jam has a lovely back story too, which is from West Country founded Thursday Cottage. Now in Essex, they still keep the same jam making methods in their award winning products.  The shortbread, hailing from Devon based Teoni's, are made from premium British butter to a melt-in-the-mouth traditional recipe. British jam, fruit cakes and a beautifully made tea blend, the beginnings of a very British afternoon tea, if you ask me.

Now here's your chance to get your hands on your very own afternoon tea hamper. Pinkies up ladies and gentlemen! Giveaway ends at Midnight on Sunday April 10th. Open to UK Mainland only. Good luck!

And don't forget to find The British Hamper Co. on Twitter and Instagram too!

  1. I love going for afternoon tea, it's always a wonderful social event with friends. I especially loved taking Mr W for a 'Gentleman's Afternoon Tea' for his birthday- it involved mini pork pies, pastries and cheese scones- a real change from the usual. although there was still plentiful cake too.

  3. The best afternoon teas for me encompass all of my favourite baked goods at their finest. Delicious freshly baked bread in delicate sandwiches, scones still warm with clotted cream and jam, finished with cake. I think it's the one encompassing meal that tells how good somewhere's baking is.

  8. the best afternoon tea i ever had was a reception on a red Double Decker bus in London Zoo. Downstairs on the bus was the bar stuffed full of lovely drinks and food being prepared which they served us upstairs in the bus. We were really spoiled with champagne as much as we could drink and lovely sandwiches & cakes and great tea followed by a lookaround of London zoo-fantastic memories!

  30. I just love tea. Having grown up with my family my Mum and Paternal Aunt being tea lovers maybe that had an effect. Though I do recall that my Paternal Aunt stayed a few streets away from my family, and straight across from the tenement where this Aunt lived :- there was a petrol station. The petrol station had a tea machine which as a youngster I used. Whether it be my love of tea at the time, fascination with the tea machine, the element of independence using the machine gave me. I don't know. But my love of tea started at a young age and persists.

My fiancé and I have had gifts of vouchers for Afternoon tea from some of his relatives. Which we have made use of, and thoroughly enjoyed. As we made use of them as part of a Day Out. Visiting Glasgow and Edinburgh whilst making use of the thoughtful gifts.
