Happy (almost) Easter! I have made these Easter egg inspired macarons for my friend's birthday. it falls on Easter Sunday so we have decided to do a homemade Easter afternoon tea (I'm sure there will be Instagram pics to follow...) Any excuse to make macarons really! These are good for gluten free gifts as well as people who aren't fans of chocolate. Have a lovely Bank Holiday everyone!
Shopping list.
(Make 12 medium or 24 mini macarons)
♥ Two egg whites, at room temperature
♥ 75g caster sugar
♥ 90g icing sugar, sieved
♥ 75g almonds, sieved until fine with lumps discarded
♥ Salted caramel or white chocolate spread
♥ Edible paint and glitter
Firstly, make your macarons according to my step by step macaron guide. To create the marbled effect I coloured half Sugarflair pink and the other half royal blue. I then added them to the mixing back randomly. It's up to you - though I think pastels work best here!
Fill with your filling of choice and paint some fun designs with the edible paint!
These macarons look so adorable! Too bad I didn't see this recipe in time for Easter, but I'll definitely still try making them!
