Charlottes W5 London

Charlotte's W5 is the new kid on the block amongst the other London eating establishments of the same name. Unsurprisingly found in the W5 district of Ealing, the baby sister of the Charlotte's group serves up brunch, lunch, dinner and cocktails between the sandy walls of an old stable block. Depending what time of day you go, you might find business meets over breakfast, ladies what lunch or cocktail connoisseurs lining the bar. The cheeseboard is on all day every day, which is good with me.

Charlottes W5 London Brunch

The Victorian stable building has been refurbished to a beautiful, enviable standard, with exposed amber brick, striking copper lighting, geometric blue tiles and mustard leather seating. It really is an Instagrammer's dream. With light streaming through the restored arched windows, I perched up and ordered a latte (£2.60) whilst we glanced over the brunch menu.

For me it was a toss up between the Cured Salmon - Scrambled Eggs - Toast - Salmon Roe (£5/8) or Fried Duck Egg - Wild Mushrooms - Cheese on Toast - Truffle (£6/9), which you can have as small or large breakfast plates. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, talking us through the flexibility of the menu as well as how the cold brew teas and coffees are made. In the end neither of us could resist the fried duck egg dish, and both ordered a large plate of it.

Earl Grey Glass Teapot

This really was the breakfast stack of dreams. And wow, not a peep from my beloved avocado, spinach or smoked salmon. This posh Cheddar cheese on toast was topped with intricate mushrooms which had been lightly sautéed in truffle oil. On top of that, a runny duck egg. A mouthwatering combination that left me perfectly satisfied. Though I could have totally gone for another round of that toast. I also indulged in a miniature pot of their Rare Earl Grey (£2.60), served a glass teapot that was just begging to be photographed.

Brunch at Charlottes W5 London

Charlotte's is such a lovely place for a spot of brunch. It ticks all the boxes for a leisurely weekend catch up, with flavoursome food, stylish decor and friendly staff too. I wouldn't mind going back for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea, supper, dessert and a cheeseboard, either.

I paid for my meal in full and the restaurant did not know I was reviewing the experience.

  7. Charlotte's W5 is the new kid on the block amongst the other London eating establishments of the same name. The restaurant opened its pay to write my coursework doors in 2014, and has since been attracting new crowds with its unique menu, which includes a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Charlotte's W5 offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a cosy interior and an outdoor terrace for those warm summer days. The restaurant also boasts an extensive wine list, with a focus on French and Spanish wines.
