#abowlshared with butterkist.

As much as I like (love) dining out, planning brunch dates and going for cocktails, there's something to be said about a cosy night in. With the Danish influence of hygge [pronouced hoo-guh] lending itself to being wrapped up indoors with friends and family, it's hard not to get on board with the cosiest lifestyle trend around. The concept is all about being comfortable, homely and happy all through the year, but I feel it's even best enjoyed around the colder months. Think chunky jumpers, slow cooked meals, curling up in front of a good film and spiced Autumnal drinks. Bliss.

When Butterkist got in touch to test out their newest popcorn varieties with a girls' night in. #ABowlShared was the perfect excuse to embrace ultimate hygge with a film night a couple of warming popcorn hot chocolates. Plus, salted caramel popcorn... who could resist?

We set up for the night with a couple of delicious popcorn hot chocolates topped with marshmallows and a mix of their Choco Mallow, Coconut and Raspberry and Salted Caramel popcorn flavours. My favourite turned out to be the coconut and raspberry, which tasted like a more refined and indulgent version of the bright pink raspberry popcorn I remember from my childhood.

I lit every candle in my house (gingerbread, wild fig and roast chestnut...), put on the fire and flicked through the latest additions to Sky Movies on Now TV. Both fans of thrillers, we settled on Zodiac. Based on a true story from late 1960s and set in San Francisco, the film features the likes of Mark Ruffalo, Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr.

Complete with striped paper straws and my new slippers, it was the ideal evening to unwind and consume an endless supply of popcorn. Now what to watch next...

To make the popcorn hot chocolate you will need:
A good quality hot chocolate
♥ Marshmallows
♥ A scattering of Butterkist popcorn
♥Your favourite mug
♥ Paper straws optional (unless you want to Instagram, in which case they're a must).

Have you tried the newest Butterkist flavours? What is your recipe for a perfect night in?
