lily o'brien's chocolates.

calling all chocolate fans! grab your christmas lists and get your chocolate quills at the ready. here's a new addition which would make the perfect present for any sweet tooth... a box of luxurious treats from lily o'brien.

the irish based gourmet chocolatier lovingly creates an assortment of themed gift boxes, hampers, keepsakes personalised chocolate gifts and wedding favours. not to mention a pretty delicious desserts inspired collection which i was lucky enough to sample. and no wonder mary o'brien's company has won so many awards!

firstly how lovely is the cute christmas packaging? an almost shabby chic style bird illustration with a pretty green bow. my favourite colour :)

but we all know not to judge a book/chocolate box by the cover. what's inside? yep that looks pretty good too...

the crème brûlée one is hands down my favourite, closely followed by the french almond torte. i have a weakness for white chocolate and almonds and these indulgent beauties didn't disappoint. i even braved the strawberry one (something i would never pick in a chocolate box) and that was pretty tasty too. i also don't really like liquers (fussy aren't i?) so when i realised the tiramasu didn't have alcohol in it i scoffed one down and thoroughly enjoyed it. two layers of smooth coffee and white chocolate.

in fact, if my housemates and i hadn't already delved our faces into this abundance of chocs i'd definitely be hoping for these in my christmas stocking!

for an extra special christmas treat, they're also currently holding a competition to win a trip to london and tickets to see charlie and the chocolate factory musical. chocolate heaven or what? you just have to make a purchase during november and december to be counted!

note: i was not paid for this post and all opinions are my own. i was kindly sent the box of chocolates to review.
