Introducing a delicious new product all the way from the Slovakia; the Lusette chocolate wafer. Coming very soon to the UK via Halusky, this indulgent treat comes in the form of Hazelnut, Nougat, Lusette Milk and Lusette Chocolate. The dreamy flavours, which can be enjoyed as a teatime treat or part of a baking recipe, are a whole 50g of chocolatey covered biscuit bar which melts in the mouth with a crunch of wafer.
My favourite was instantly the hazelnut, inspiring me to come up with a recipe with this flavour as the star. This double chocolate no bake cheesecake uses the hazelnut wafers a base, with a luxurious chocolate cream cheese topping and is finished with scatterings of milk, chocolate and hazelnut wafers. Not before a drizzle of milk chocolate, of course. And not an oven in sight either! Chocolate lovers, this one is for you.
Shopping list.
♥ 6x 50g Hazelnut Lusette wafers
♥ 75g unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
♥ 400g full fat cream cheese
♥ 200g hazelnut spread
♥ 75g icing sugar, sieved
♥ 50g milk chocolate
♥ 1 x 50g Milk Lusette wafer
♥ 1 x 50g Chocolate Lusette waferEquipment; blender, saucepan, sieve, round loose bottomed tin or silicone tin.
Time preparation: 10 minutes.
Setting time: At least 4-6 hours.
Step one. Blend together 5 of the hazelnut wafers (250g) in a food processor. Add in the butter and continue to blend. Pour into your tin of choice.
Step two. Mix together the cream cheese, hazelnut spread and icing sugar. Pour over the wafer cheesecake base. Allow to set for at least 4-6 hours, or overnight.
Step three. When the cheesecake has set, remove from the tin. Melt the chocolate slowly over a bain-marie and allow to return to room temperature. (You don't want to melt the cheesecake!) Meanwhile chop the remaining three Lusette bars into squares for decoration.
Step four. Decorate the cake with the melted chocolate and top with the chunks of wafer. Ta da!
Enjoy! Have you ever tried wafers as part of a chocolate cheesecake? Or have a favourite no-bake cheesecake recipe?
Halusky, importer of food and drinks products from Czech Republic & Slovakia are launching Lusette to the UK market on their site, and can't wait to hear your thoughts. They have put together a survey to find out your thoughts on the product. There's also a chance to win free gift hampers (there are 50 to win!) for those who complete the survey. It takes just 3 minutes to fill in - which sounds like a brilliant deal to me!
Post in collaboration with Halusky. All words, opinion, photography and recipe my own.
