King prawn samphire chilli spaghetti

A simple summer pasta recipe with a kick. Perfect for seafood lovers, this dish mixes juicy king prawns with sweet peppers, salty samphire, zesty lemon and a tingle of red chilli. Easily adjusted to tastes, you can make this for spice fiends and chilli beginners alike. 

King prawn samphire spaghetti recipe

Shopping list.
(Serves two)
♥ 120g wholemeal spaghetti
♥ 2 garlic cloves, crushed
♥ One red chilli, finely sliced
♥ One red pepper, sliced
♥ 100g fresh samphire
♥ 200g king prawns, cooked
♥ Half a lemon, plus wedges to serve
♥ Olive oil, salt and pepper to taste

Step one. Boil the spaghetti according to packet instructions, which usually takes around 10-12 minutes,

Step two. Meanwhile, cook together the garlic, chilli and red pepper in a pan with a little oil on a low heat. Keep stirring for a few minutes and don't allow the garlic to burn.

Step three. Add in the samphire with a squeeze of lemon and extra dash of olive oil. Season and toss together for a couple of minutes.

Step four. Lastly add the prawns to the pepper and samphire mix, heating them through until piping hot.

Step five. By now your pasta should be cooked. Drain and add the prawn, samphire and pepper mix to the saucepan. Heat further and season if required. Serve immediately with lots of fresh black pepper.
