paneer tikka masala.

shopping list 
♥ 200g block of paneer cheese
♥ 3 tbsp tikka paste
♥ one onion, choppped
♥ 400g chopped tomatoes
♥ tbsp tomato purée
4 tbsp natural yogurt
♥ knob of butter
♥ chopped coriander, to serve


this is based on the bbc good food paneer tikka masala recipe - which i really recommend! 

i made this last week for what i ate wednesday - if you haven't already heard of it then get involved! :)



begin by chopping up the paneer into chunks and tossing in the  tikka paste, which you then grill on a baking tray. 

next, you begin the tikka masala sauce by cooking the chopped onion on a low heat for 20 minutes, then adding the ingredients gradually as follows.



and here is the result... which was really yummy! it was quite tangy though and i couldn't work out if maybe i'd put too much of something in it. my friend who cooks a lot of indian food said maybe the chopped tomatoes - but i thought it would be the sourness of the yogurt. i also realise i cheated a little on using pre-made tikka paste. if you have any tips on making the perfect tikka masala or how to make tikka paste from scratch - do let me know! :)
