peter pizzeria, leicester.

A long overdue post about a fab Leicester blogger meet up at the newly opened Peter Pizzeria. Having sampled the Neapolitan delights of the Loughborough Peter Pizzeria, it was a great chance to see what the Leicester restaurant had to offer as well as meet up with some local lifestyle and food bloggers.

After the quirky decor of the first venue, I wasn't surprised to see the eccentric surroundings of theatre chairs, hairdryer lights, Barbie dolls swinging from the ceilings, retro games and the occasional bit of indoor Astroturf. Heading to the loo, I discovered the toilet cubicles were actually individual garden sheds - very original!

We chatted with faces old and new over the hugest meet, cheese and olive platter I've ever seen. Definitely would have been one for the food blogger prop cupboard! (Spot the hairdryer lights!)

Then - out came the pizzas! From classic margarita to Italian sausage and luxury truffle to king prawn and rocket, we tried an array of the pizza flavours from 1 right through to 8 with a spicy special!

My hand down favourite was the number 6, which I've sampled and loved before. This was made up of sweet cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and prawns with rocking and generous parmesan shavings. A winning combination for me, executed perfectly on a moreish stone baked base.

To finish off a top night putting the world to rights with local bloggy types, out came the dessert to end all desserts. (Except a Bakewell!)

Drum roll please... Nutella pizza! Sprinkled with icing sugar and mixed nuts. Can you really go wrong with this? I think not.

A fab night - thank you to the guys at Peter Pizzeria and Annie for putting it all together!

Wondering where to park? There is on street Pay and Display parking (most free after 6pm) in the surrounding roads of Belvoir St and King Street. Or you can park in the Newarke Street car park (LE2 7AD) and walk 2-3 minutes. Let's be honest - after that Nutella pizza you may need a walk!
