Creme egg macarons recipe

Just in time for Easter... Creme Egg macarons! Made with two tone yellow and chocolate macaron shells, I've well and truly jumped on the Cadbury Creme Egg baking recipe train with these tempting treats. They're then filled with a classic Creme Egg buttercream to make an Easter inspired delight.

reece's peanut butter cup macarons

Some tasty little macarons made to taste just like your favourite peanut butter treat. Creating a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup style buttercream, which tastes like chocolate peanut butter, I've made some mini Reece's inspired macarons. Good luck trying not to eat the frosting right out the bowl... believe me it will be worth it.

rose shaped macarons: inspired by portmeirion botanic garden.

Rose effect macaron recipes

Inspired by nature, the Portmeirion Botanic Garden collection is full of floral flourishes from foxgloves to fuchsias and poppies to peonies. Founder Susan Williams-Ellis created the Botanic Garden range which has been synonymous with the brand since its inception, preferring the delicate pottery pieces to be mixed and matched rather like a British garden would. A quaint hydrangea print teapot can sit alongside sweet pea teacups and a stack of cakes on a iris print plate; each colour, shade and design harmonising against one another.

To celebrate what would have been her 100th birthday (June 6th 2018), I've teamed up with Portmeirion to create some botanical inspired creations of my own. These rose inspired macarons are made with a two tone petal effect, given a fondant green leaf and filled with vanilla and strawberry buttercream. An ode to Susan, I'd like to hope she would have been happy to have them at her afternoon tea party.

minion macarons.

A fun Minion macaron recipe for my Minion mad nephew. I created these little bite sized blue and yellow treats for his 4th birthday. I'd already got him into macarons a few months earlier (could be due to the Nutella filling...) and now it's really cute that he requests them from me. His wish was my command when I conjured up these Despicable Me delicacies alongside the rest of the spread.

I always swear by Sugarflair when it comes to coloured macarons - they're a little pricy but a tiny pot lasts me ages and can be adjusted to different colour strengths. Simply halve the mix and pipe a mix of yellow and blue. Lemon or blueberry buttercream could work well here but I thought I'd stick to the chocolate...

chocolate bear macarons: going on a bear hunt with ready brek.

"We're going on a bear hunt... We're going to catch a big one... What a beautiful day! We're not scared... "

Who remembers that lovely poem from Michael Rosen? I actually can't believe it's 28 years old this year (almost as old as me...) And what a perfect fit for the rebrand of our well-loved porridge treat, Ready Brek. Now with a cute bear on the front of their infamous red packaging, but still the same yummy flavours and nutrients, the illustration was the perfect inspiration behind my latest bear macaron recipe. These macarons are filled with a delicious milk chocolate filling and decorated with edible paint. Let's go...

triple chocolate macarons.

Chocolate. Triple chocolate, at that. Could there be anything finer than that first bite into your favourite chocolate bar? Personally, I love a really good milk chocolate or anything with almonds, hazelnuts or pistachios. And so, in teaming up with Expedia and their 2017 calender of foodie experience and events, I was inspired by this month's celebration of all things cocoa at York Chocolate Festival.

This triple chocolate macaron recipe is made up of cocoa infused macaron shells, a Nutella spread filling and a final drizzle of white chocolate. Macarons and chocolate? Yes please!

mint aero macarons.

Aero macarons

Another macaron recipe from me! This time it's turn for another timeless chocolate bar to be the star of the show - the mint Aero. With pastel green shells and a chocolate mint buttercream filling, meet the mint Aero macaron! When pondering the sweet counter, I never think to choose them, but this just reminded me all over again why they're such an underrated and classic chocolate choice. And sandwiched in a French macaron? Yes please!

battenberg macarons.

What happens when you've already made Bakewell tart macarons? You try out baking Battenberg ones, of course. I just can't get enough of the deliciously almondy taste you find in such recipes. The recipe is made with French meringue, coloured the signature dessert colour and filled with almond infused buttercream. And so in all their pink and yellow glory, I present to you...  Battenberg macarons.

Pumpkin Spiced Latte Macarons

Hello September, I'm starting to kinda like you. The evenings may be getting darker and my house a little colder, but I've remembered that's an excuse to make warming one pot meals and start on some Autumn baking. Oh, and the PSL. How could I forget? Pumpkin spice lattes have to be one of the best things about September. So naturally I had to make a macaron out of them.

It's no secret, macarons have become a baking favourite of mine. So why shouldn't vegans get to enjoy them too? After finding out you can make eggless meringue using chickpea liquid, also known as aquafaba, I just had to give it a go. I've seen a lot of recipes using cups as measurement, however I've created a UK friendly version using metric grams and ml. Here of course I've filled my vegan macarons with peanut butter - a firm egg and dairy free favourite - but the possibilities are endless!

pizza macarons.

Mamma mia! Continuing with the junk food macaron recipe theme, I thought I'd try my hand at mini pizza macarons. With a sweet jammy filling, a vivid red icing base and scatterings of sprinkles, these sugary treats couldn't be further than the savoury snack.

cheeseburger macarons.

Cheeseburger Macarons

Miniature burgers, but not as you know it. These tiny bites aren't made of Aberdeen Angus and plastic cheese I'm afraid, but instead Nutella and a slice of cleverly coloured chocolate. With my trusty basic macaron recipe by my side, I thought I'd go all topsy turvy with a hamburger macaron recipe. Although I didn't add any greenery to the recipe (so it isn't your five a day I'm afraid...) so I guess it's a cheeseburger macaron recipe - easy on the salad!

crunchie macarons.

Mixing my mum's favourite chocolate bar and my love for making homemade macarons - I created this Crunchie macaron recipe for her birthday. I made up a little wicker basket of a variety of treats to wear, to pamper, to craft... these of course were labelled "Eat me!"

cappuccino macarons.

after the macaron masterclass i went to last month, i couldn't wait to try my hand at some homemade macarons whilst the tips and tricks were still fresh in my mind. as i had some sugar and crumbs coffee flavoured icing sugar left over, an idea sprung to mind for some cappuccino macarons filled with expresso creme patissiere.
