there's nothing better than the combination of something which is tasty and good for you. if they invented a recipe for a bakewell tart with your entire 5 a day and negative calories i'd be all over it. that's not to say that the right mix of wholegrains and fruit has to be boring though, right? cue this new granola from special k.
the brilliant thing about this new granola is it's a five grain recipe made from oats, barley, wheat, spelt and rye with real fruit and nuts for flavour. these are raisins & red apples; and cranberry, pumpkin seeds & almonds.
this week i've been loving the cranberry, pumpkin seed & almond variety with a splash of delicious almond milk. per portion, the cereal itself is 174 calories (9% of rda) and 7.7g of sugar (9% of rda).
it really is a fantastic morning boost with great texture and tasty, nutty flavours. you could also even make some fab muffins, stir through natural yoghurt or sprinkle over melted chocolate and set for crunchy chocolate bark.
you might have started seeing this pop up on the shelves in the last few weeks as the special k granola will be in all major supermarkets during february 2014, with an rrp. of £2.99 for a 370g bag.
however, the lovely lot at kellogg's have offered to send out two cases of special k granola to one of my readers. that's 6 bags of each flavour in total :)
if you'd like to be in with a chance, simply answer the giveaway question below. the giveaway ends on sunday march 2nd 2014 and a winner will be selected at random via rafflecopter. good luck!
which granola flavour sounds like your favourite and how would you enjoy it?

note: i was kindly sent special k granola to review and for a competition prize. i was not paid for this post and all opinions are my own.
